Metcash brings back ‘Big Family Big Prizes’ to celebrate Family-Founded stores

 

29 June 2026Metcash (ASX:MTS), Australia’s largest wholesaler and service provider to independent businesses, has relaunched its ‘Big Family Big Prizes’ campaign for a second year, running from this Wednesday 1 July across more than 3,200 independent stores nationwide.  

The campaign unites 11 Metcash supported brands including IGA, IGA Local Grocer, Foodland, Mitre 10, Home Hardware, Total Tools, Cellarbrations, The Bottle-O, and Porters Liquor, under the company’s ‘Family-Founded’ brand platform, designed to help shoppers better recognise and support local independent retailers.  

Building on the success of its first year, the ‘Big Family Big Prizes’ competition continues to grow, with this year’s campaign introducing a gamified experience, giving shoppers the chance to “spin to win” one of 500 instant prizes daily.   

Danielle Jenkinson, Chief Growth Officer at Metcash, said: “The Big Family Big Prizes campaign is back bigger and better this year, with strong support from our suppliers across all business pillars. By bringing IGA, Mitre 10, Total Tools, Cellarbrations, The Bottle-O, Porters Liquor and more together, we’re giving shoppers a chance to win big, while putting a spotlight on supporting local.  

“The ‘Big Family, Big Prizes’ competition is about celebrating the strength of Australia’s biggest network of family-founded stores and the communities they serve.” 

Loyalty will also play a bigger role this year, with members rewarded with an extra spin to win, encouraging more shoppers to access Metcash’s network of loyalty programs including IGA Rewards, Cellarbrations Top Drop Rewards, Total Tools Insider Rewards and Mitre 10’s Mighty Rewards.  

“We’re always looking for new ways to reward our loyalty members and this year we’ve made it even easier to access those benefits across all our brands.” 

Big Family Big Prizes is running in stores from 1-28 July. Shoppers who spend at least $40 and/or purchase a participating brand in a single transaction, upload their receipt using the QR code in store, to spin the virtual wheel for a chance to win one of 500+ instant prizes daily.
