Can I access details about my shareholding online?

Yes, you can register with Registries Limited at www.registries.com.au through their Investorserve. First time users will need their Holding Statement to register.

Registries also have various forms on their website to assist shareholders to update their details.


Can I obtain an Annual Report online?

Yes, a copy of the Annual Report is available under Financial Results & Reports.


Do we issue a half yearly report?

No. Metcash issues an Annual Report in August each year. Shareholders can elect to be notified by email when it is released. Contact Registries Limited, the Metcash share registry, at

No, Metcash is a wholesale distribution company. Our IGA stores are independently owned and provide competitively priced products.


How can I be sure my personal information is kept confidential?

How do I buy Metcash Limited shares?

You can buy Metcash Limited shares on the stockmarket through a stockbroker. For more information on stockbrokers, visit the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) at www.asx.com.au


How do I change my address?

First, obtain a Change of Address Notification form from the Registries website.  Refer to this link to the forms section.  Complete the Change of Address Notification form and send it to Registries Limited.  Alternatively, write or fax a signed letter to Registries ensuring you include your previous and current address details. Please remember your SRN details.

If you have a CHESS sponsored holding (HIN) you will need to notify your broker who will update the share registry.


How do I change my name on my shareholding records?

If you have changed your name by marriage or deed poll you will need to write to Registries Limited requesting a change of name on your holding. Ensure you include a certified copy of either your marriage certificate, deed poll or certificate of registration of change of name. In the case of a change of company name, you will need to provide a certified copy of the ASIC Certificate of Registration.

All CHESS sponsored holdings will need to provide the same certified documents to their broker to effect a change of name.


How do I notify a change of bank account for dividends?

By notifying Registries in writing or by completing a Direct Credit Authority form found on the Registries website under Resources/Forms. Please ensure all information is clearly written and the letter is signed correctly. You will need to include

• Name of the relevant company or other listed entity
• Your full name and address
• Your Securityholder Reference Number (SRN)
• Details of the NEW account: ie. Name/branch of the financial institution; BSB/Account Number and name of the account

If you have a CHESS sponsored holding you will need to contact your broker.


How do I provide my Tax File Number (TFN)?

You will need to fill out a TFN form which is available on the Registries website at the forms section. Send the completed form to Registries. The address is available elsewhere in this section.


How do I sell my shares and can I use an online broker?

To sell your securities on the Australian market, you will need to contact a licensed stockbroker to effect the sale on your behalf. A list of stockbrokers (including online brokers) can be found on the Australian Stock Exchange website www.asx.com.au.


I have lost my dividend payment advice; can you please send me a replacement?

If you have registered online (through Investorserve) you can view your shareholder payment history/details by logging onto the Registries website www.registries.com.au.


I haven't received my dividend cheque, can you please send me a replacement?

Please contact Registries Limited either by fax or letter advising that the original dividend or distribution cheque has been lost, stolen or never received. You will need to request a cancellation and reissue of your payment. Please include your full name and address, your SRN and details of the dividend or distribution payment. Do not forget to sign the letter.

You may not have received your dividend because you have changed your address and not updated the share registry. You should also complete a Change of Address Notification form so that any future communications are sent to the correct address.

If you are still receiving cheques you may want to set up a Direct Credit Authority so that all future dividend payments are paid directly into your Australian bank or credit union account on the payment date.


If I want to check the Metcash share price with the Australian Securities Exchange, (ASX), what is the ticker symbol?

Metcash Limited's ticker symbol is MTS. The Metcash share price can be checked by using the reference on the www.asx.com.au website.


What do I do if I have lost my Holding Statement?

Send a written request for a duplicate statement to Registries Limited. Please include:

• Full name of the registered securityholder
• Securityholder Reference Number (SRN)
• Name of Issuer
• The registered address of the securityholder
• Number of shares or units held
• Signature of the registered securityholder

Please note that a charge may be levied for this service.


What is an SRN or HIN?

Your SRN (Securityholder Reference Number) is for an Issuer Sponsored Holdings. Your HIN (Holder Identification Number) is a CHESS sponsored holding which is obtained through a broker. Your SRN/HIN identifies you as the owner of your shares or options if you elected to participate in the Employee Option Plan. This number can be found on your Holding Statement and should be securely stored.


What is the Ex Dividend Date/Record Date?

These dates are announced when a dividend has been declared. The dividend details can be found on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) website www.asx.com.au under the Metcash code MTS.

Shares are quoted ‘ex dividend' four business days before the company's record date. To be entitled to a dividend a shareholder must have purchased shares before the ex dividend date.

The record date is the date a shareholder must be on the company's register (at 5.00pm) to be entitled to the benefit of a dividend.

 


When are dividends paid?

If a dividend is announced, payment is made in July (full year) and December (half year).


When does Metcash Limited hold the Annual General Meeting?

The Metcash Limited Annual General Meeting is traditionally held in September of each year (in Sydney). Please check the Calendar for specific dates, venues and times.
