Changes to the Campbells Wholesale Network
The Campbells Wholesale business continues to evolve. In March 2010, following a number of years of decline in the traditional cash and carry wholesale market, Metcash announced it would rationalise its network of Campbells branches by closing 8 warehouses. This initiative is expected to substantially reduce costs while allowing sufficient flexibility to cater for changing customer profiles, especially the retail convenience customers requirement of a full delivery service. As a result, the CCC and CWD divisions will merge to form a new Campbells Wholesale division, where all branches in the network service both customer groups. This combined offer will provide a unique service to convenience store operators.
